Well, by definition it cannot be consensual until the victim reaches the age of consent. Even then (and it would be very unusual for it to begin after the victim had reached such an age) the point is from the purpetrator's point of view it remains principally about domination and control, assuming that we are talking about there being a wide age difference.

In the case of siblings of close age, it all gets very complicated, regardless of whether they are under or over the age of consent and there is no polemic that can be applied. Needless to say, in such situations there is generally a distortion of development by poor boundaries within the parenting.

Sitting in the front garden of his well-kept home in the city's Al-Fursi district, he remains a free man, despite having stamped on, suffocated and then stabbed his student daughter to death.

Abdel-Qader, 46, a government employee, was initially arrested but released after two hours. Astonishingly, he said, police congratulated him on what he had done. 'They are men and know what honour is,' he said.

.....Though her horrified mother, Leila Hussein, called Rand's two brothers, Hassan, 23, and Haydar, 21, to restrain Abdel-Qader as he choked her with his foot on her throat, they joined in. Her shrouded corpse was then tossed into a makeshift grave without ceremony as her uncles spat on it in disgust.

'Death was the least she deserved,' said Abdel-Qader. 'I don't regret it. I had the support of all my friends who are fathers, like me, and know what she did was unacceptable to any Muslim that honours his religion,' he said.

Wow, three grown men, possibly more, mercilessly killing a defenceless 17 year old and talking about honour.

Fritzl carried on a normal life aside from the imprisonment and abuse of his daughter - and he managed to keep that a secret for some 15 years. I'd say he was a 'level-headed person otherwise'.

Consent and 6 yr olds are mutually incompatable concepts, however "willing" they appear (ie they don't object.) They do not know nor understand what they are being "asked" to engage in, nor the consequences of engaging in it or refusing. They cannot make a decision free of outside influence even if they did understand the activity.

By the way Basil, it is a very common arguement by paedos that if a 6, 7,8......etc yr old does not object they are consenting....or the more savvy of them will say they "thought" they were consenting. That is worrying enough. It is very concerning when "normal", average Joes who should appreciate the concept of consent, fail.
