have you watched at least one IPL game?
Re: how many of us have watched IPL?
Nada, zero, zilch interest. Don't even know if it's on TV or not...

To be fair to the IPL - it is Indian domestic cricket.
I'm sure i'm showing the same level of interest in it an Indian or Aussie would show county cricket. i.e - not much!

I watch it religously.
I don't have Pay TV so I rarely get the chance to see many players from overseas apart from series in Australia. e.g. This has been my first opportunity to watch Dale Steyn in action.

Haven't seen a single ball bowled yet. I believe it is on Channel 10.

Re: how many of us have watched IPL?
I've watched all the matches and recorded all the highlights and at the end of the tournament I'm going to have an IPL marathon and watch all the highlights one after the other and diddle myself silly.
Actually I've only watched about 4 games.

I would have to pay an additional £10 per month on top of what I already pay Rupert Murdoch to watch the IPL - so the answer is a big fat zero.

Re: how many of us have watched IPL?
I've seen a couple of games and everybody seems to be stomping around scowling. On the whole it's been good fun though with the interest in the games I've seen centering on one team managing to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
I was on Cricinfo a while back and stumbled upon some weird game called IPL Pick'em. Basically you pick one team to win from each game and accumulate points. So far I've managed 120 and lie in 392nd place. I thought about my strategy long and hard and ended up picking teams that end in 'i'. Clever, eh?

It's on 202.
Watched a few games. It's been interesting, believe it or not, to watch how the tactics of the various teams are beginning to vary.

Haven't watched anything, don't know any results, or who plays for which team, or the names of the teams, even.

Re: how many of us have watched IPL?
Well haven't watched a live ball of it and only a bit of Mcullum battering it and Sreesanth crying on youtube. Followed it for a bit- but the sheer quantity of games has really dwindled my interest. Very hard to get behind/be interested in any of the teams which is the main thing for me.

Re: how many of us have watched IPL?
Some common themes emerging above. I note also the 'tremendous' interest in each game on the IPL subforum; some of the games elicit 10 posts. CONCLUSION: It's a game for an entirely new audience, and very popular with them.

You're lucky to be able to be so picky.

We have a Test series coming up in 3 weeks or so, so do you. Don't spoil your dinner by eating rubbish all afternoon.

Stop comparing it with the real thing and just enjoy it for what it is.
A bit of a nibble in between won't hurt.

I keep forgetting it's on; it's on a commercial FTA TV channel here so I don't even think of it.

Re: how many of us have watched IPL?
Be honest - what most people really want more than seeing centuries and five-fers is to see their country beat another, especially against the odds. Not much of that stuff in IPL...

Re: how many of us have watched IPL?
I've watched a few games. My only interest is seeing how the Aussies - and in particular TGM and tgm - are performing.
The more I have watched, the more I am convinced that it is a sh1thouse version of the sport and in fact I am developing a deeper appreciation of the subtlety, tension and beauty of JAMODIs.
On the other hand, I am more than happy for players from other nations playing a lot of this stuff because it will serve them very poorly when the tests roll around.

Re: how many of us have watched IPL?
As IPL proves more and more successful with each passing day, one can expect more such 'throwing in the towel' stuff ..
