Nasser Hussain is a terrible tosser.

As England captain, he once went on a run of eight lost coin tosses out of ten, with odds against of around 22/1.

That was but a prelude to his worst run: a stunning twelve losses in a row, carrying odds against of more than 4000/1.

England's terrible run of coin-toss defeats finally came to an end at the beginning of the 4th One Day International v Zimbabwe at Bulawayo in 2001, their captain finally calling correctly.

Their captain that day, however, was Marcus Trescothick, standing in for the injured Hussain.

Fit again, Hussain returned for the 5th and final ODI of the series (Zim v Eng, 5th ODI, Bulawayo) and promptly lost his thirteenth toss in a row.

Is in enshrined in the Laws that it has to be the captain who calls the toss? Couldn't England have employed somebody - like, say, Dominic Cork - as a substitute tosser?

Surely Skunkhead is the biggest tosser in the English team?
