See if you can explain, but limit thinking time to 30 seconds. There are no leap years involved.

The 31 was random, it could have been "two days ago I was 11 & next year I'll 14".

To be fair when someone asks a "teaser" you expect the answer to have a twist and not be the obvious. Then again, chips do have trouble with the strangest things.
