Still injured I think.
Another chance for the hacker at the top of the order I guess. Although I see Cook played for Essex today - not really a like for like change though...

If his back's gyppy, why bother risking him? Keep him in the deep-freeze for the SA Test series.

If they bring Cook back for anyone, that's it: me and England are done*.
*not legally binding.

Can we have more hilarity in this match? I'm still giggling at NZ actually winning a match.

You've forgotten the 3-0 tonking they gave your mob in NZ then?

MODIs don't linger that long in the memory. These ones will likewise be forgotten by next week.JKLever wrote:Zat wrote:Can we have more hilarity in this match? I'm still giggling at NZ actually winning a match.

Wish I could be ambivalent- but the Kiwis have absolutely owned England for as long as I can remember at one day cricket. It's getting old and quietly depressing. I reckon the last time they beat them in a one day series of any type was 1994.

It'd be quicker to list the sides that haven't owned England in ODIs for as long as anyone can remember.
Zimbabwe.
Bangladesh.
There we go.

It was nice to send them home in the CB series and beat the Aussies.

Aye. There must've been another series on that tour that makes us forget that tournament so easily!

Well thats true but English supporters struggle to take the JAMODIs seriously. Who happens to win those games seems pretty irrelevant. At least there have been no crappy day-night games the result of which is basically decided by the toss.

How did Oz get on in their own tournament that year?

Looks as if Oram may return, and McCullum keep according to cr@pinfo.
That makes them all round look a much stronger unit!
If the Oval plays well, we could be in the preverbial again!
