England v New Zealand, 1st T20I, The Oval, 25 June, 2013
Already? And why do England not have any bowlers?

Not really. Looking at the Aussie batting lineup sans Clarke, these look like ideal bowling practice for the Ashes.

They're being played by non-Test schleps.
Re: England v New Zealand, 1st T20I, The Oval, 25 June, 2013
Ugh, so they are squeezing a T20 series in before the Tests? FMD, talk about overkill.
Maybe that's Aus's best hope - the England team will be bored with cricket by the start of the Ashes.

NZ win the toss and bat.
Hales, Lumb, Wright, Morgan, Bopara, Buttler, Stokes, Woakes, Tredwell, Dernbach, Rankin
By my count, there's one bowler there: Tredders. Bopara might do all right.

Chavi Flops, Leader of the Attack (seam at least). Never expected to be writing that...
If we're going to pick comedy teams we could at least have gone for Foakes. That would be Willey/Dilley/Lillee silly...

Ohhhhhhh.... Boyd Warwickshire is in. Where the f*ck is Ian Westwood? Jim Troughton???? WHERE? No worries, Chris Warwickshire is playing. Why's Chris Warks playing? Because his T20 average is 25.76. What's that? Economy 8.15? Ahhhhh. Really good. I'm a bit disappointed Ronnie Warks isn't there. AND IJL Warks. There really aren't enough Warks in our side.

Captain Morgan won the toss, according to the BBC... he's certainly got a rum deal with this line-up.Dello wrote:NZ win the toss and bat.

Almost word for word! Then he did this weird side-mouthed 'a-cha-cha' followed by a bit of jazz hands.

Jesus! Bumble's going on about Althea and Donna! Uptown Boyd Rankin. Mentalist.
Will be interesting to see how Rutherford, Anderson and Latham go, anyway.

There we go: Boyd Rankin's last domestic T20 match was three years ago. Credentials.
Re: England v New Zealand, 1st T20I, The Oval, 25 June, 2013
Rankin gets Franklin with a 90mph searer.

Dirtbag sweepstake anyone? I'll go 4-0-42-1...
Rankin strikes with his fourth ball!

I predict an overexertion on the slower ball tip, chest hair, sleeve tattoos, confused cross-eyed looks and plenty of runs.
Re: England v New Zealand, 1st T20I, The Oval, 25 June, 2013
I'm not sure how this Hamish Rutherford is creaming these 76mph leg-stump crackerjacks from Woakes to the boundary.
Re: England v New Zealand, 1st T20I, The Oval, 25 June, 2013
Looked like McCullum had hit that one straight up in the air for an easy catch to the keeper, somehow it ended up in the upper tier of the stand!

That Woakes seems a fine bowler. Can we fast-track him an Aussie passport in time for the Ashes?
And add a BONZA ROO - YOU BEAUT! tattoo across Dernbach's arse and get him signed up too?

Just tonkalicious. You'd think they were consistent underperformers in domestic T20, or something. The Warwickshire boys blow at this format. Terdbach blows at this format. Tredwell blows at this format. It's a who's who of tonkalonk.

Admittedly, though, Rutherford in particular has been pretty spectacular. He just looks a good player - one of high calibre.

Tredwell has him in two minds though.
