Who is currently the world's best test bowler?

Stuart Clark in my opinion. Those that say Steyn hasn't been tested against England and Australia can't then go and vote for Lee who has been pretty mediocre against England and doesn't play Australia.

Asid would be right up there if he could stay fit. And Murali's probably more valuable than them all, as he's the only all-time great spinner left in the game.

Kumble is not even in the choice?

Steyn reminds me of Waqar Younis of the early 90s. The guy was as unstoppable as an annoying wife with a verbal diarrhea.

Then Lee. He performed way better than anyone against a strong batting line up.

Would tend to agree in principle with that list, save for the classification of Muralitharan as a 'bowler'.

Lee is by far the best quick bowler. Disdain still has a lot to prove... though I feel that the series against England could be a defining moment in his career. In the spin bowling department, although Murali has all the stats in his favour, there's no way I'd trade him for Kumble.

Their score is reduced every time they miss a match for their country. The fact that no-one has come in to replace their (comparatively) low scores shows the paucity of quality bowlers in Test cricket at the moment.

FWIW - I would take Shane Bond over some on the list of this thread, e.g. Asif, every time, and if Shoaib had his head screwed on correctly (not always the case) him too.
