I have a feeling that Monty may get a tough time from the Saffies. kallis may reap benefits.

I don't reckon Nel's even going to play. He's a decent bowler, but Morkel's got the potential to be a world-beater, even if he is still a bit raw. They'll go for him instead, I think.

Cook will get taken to the cleaners. His technique is shot to pieces. Average 20 for the series.

Anderson could well be England's most important player.
If the right one turns up then England wins. If the normal one plays then they are going to struggle to bowl the saffies out

If - as has been reported - summer has officially been and gone for the year and England is due nothing but shite weather from now until forever, Jammy could well cash in under some dark, cloudy skies.

Only for one Test though. Flintoff will replace Anderson even if he has taken 8 wickets and Broad has taken 1.

Kallis and Smith will crab under the pressure that will be built up by Monty, along with men around the bat KP right up in Smith and Kallis' grill chirping away. Should make for great Cricket. Hope the weather holds up!

Re: What players will succeed in the SAF vs England series?
How can summer be been and gone when it hasn't arrived?
I'm tipping Pietersen to do well because he'll be determined to stick it up the Saffers.
I don't think Kallis's record in England is that great so Amla could be the dark horse of their batsmen.
I would expect either Steyn or Morkel to do really well if they don't get stage fright with the English press and all the attendant pressure surrounding two inexperienced players.
Harris will be taken to the cleaners.
Strauss and Bell might have good series with the latter often singled out by hypercritical types.
McKenzie and Smith will be a disaster.
Anderson and Sidebottom will also dominate the vulnerable looking Saffa batting line-up.

I've lived in England before and found their summer stifling.

Re: What players will succeed in the SAF vs England series?
KP will have a good series, as will Sidebottom. I think Broad will start to do something more meaningful. Strauss does well against these guys.Vaughan will typically produce one memorable hundred amongst a series of low scores.
For South Africa, I think Morkel will have a good series, but Steyn will be a dissapointment. Amla will have a good series, along with Kallis. In a shock move, Boucher will be dropped after the second test.
For England, we'll lose 2-1. But everything will be fine.....

Every time I read one of red's posts I get renewed hope.
She hasn't got a thing right yet since she arrived here.

I'm surprised at everyone bigging Amla up.
Personally I don't think he has the technique to survive in England.

If the weather is good and the pitches are flat, then I think Amla will do well. Surely England is due for a stretch of sunshine lasting longer than 2 weeks?
