The 2008 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale
So, who is the favourite now that Tiger is out? Mickelson has traditionally struggled in the Open, as his game is much better suited to the soft courses of America.
Justin Rose, anyone?

Tough start - the first players are on the back nine and no one is under par yet.

He was let off a £60 fine and 3 points when nobbled by the police
for driving whilst chirruping to Chrissie on his mobile phone yesterday!
Seems the policewoman was smitten!

Re: The 2008 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale
totally agree...we are very lucky in melbourne and surrounds to have some fairly tough courses...one of the clubs i am a member of is celebrating its 101 st year. it is a links styled course on an island that is really exposed to the elements and provides great challenges

And Norman does well in the first round. Get ready for a whole heap of hype in the Oz media in general, and on Nein in particular, especially if he stays within 3 or 4 of the lead after day 2.

Michael Slater does a sports radio show in Sydney on weekday mornings. This morning he said that if Norman doesn't make the cut he will do next weeks 5 shows in the nude.

are you suggesting he should do well in the wind because he is used to getting blown about?

Wow - Norman double bogeys the 6th and then bounces back with consecutive birdies.
