Re: ONE WORD
With Steyn missing it was perfect conditions for England to prosper.
They seemed to implode.

Why thank you, my dear. But only Homer does it justice.
Poor old England could do with a bit of "help me, Jebus" right now.

I was hoping for a close battle, actually holcs. The first Test gave me hope of an excellent series.
I'm not an Aussie who despises England - except when we are playing your boys!!

There's still a chance that the Poms will sort out their problems before next year's Ashes. Another cracker of a series like 2005 would be wonderful.
With a different result, of course . . .

Aye, the biggest disappointment of the last Ashes series, was not so much the result, but the total lack of competition.
Would love 09 to be the same in competitiveness.

Part of the 'great for the game' thing was England winning, though. We don't want that to happen too often.skully wrote:Sage, tails. Was great for the game.freddled gruntbuggly wrote:Another cracker of a series like 2005 would be wonderful.

Suffice to say it gave your boys a real kick up the backside, whilst showing the rest of the countries that you could compete against the best.
Whereas previously there had really been no challenge at all, and it had got pretty mudane really!

I think we helped somewhat as well, by being shoite too.
I'm not giving you ALL the credit for beating us 5-0, we had a helping hand in it definately.

I don't like Vaughan too much as a skipper, but I dont think we can blame him for the selections in the 07 Ashes. He was on one leg at the time!
But thank you for granting us the plaudits for your victory!
