i must admit to still being puzzled why youvy keeps getting picked in the team...he rarely scores runs or takes wickets and always looks like he wants a servant to chase the ball when he is fielding...does he own the BCCI...

if Youvy was an australian he would certainly come from NSW the state whose players are traditionally overrated

I wonder why does each selector forget that ODIs and tests are different and tests require much superior skills than in ODIs.

If SK chooses this wrong path we might waste another 5-7 tests again and team will have two batsmen, one on the verge of retiring and other on the verge of getting discarded once again!

How will the team perform with just 2 middle order batsmen able to perform? What'll happen if even one of these two fail?

Of course. But a player who has shown again and again that he can't adapt his game to the higher requirements of tests isn't a top batsmen. And this is what Indian selectors keep forgetting.

But what (or who) is the right path? It's a punt if we go with Yuvi, it's a punt if we go with a debutant. It's a risk either way.

If we give chance to a debutant, we can be 50% sure that he'll succeed and the early 5-7 tests will be valuable experience/exposure for him. In Yuvi's case aren't we 100% sure that he'll fail yet again? 23 tests are a lot and if he could establish himself, he'd have done so when he got the run of 13 tests consecutively.
