Stanford 20-20 superstars squad to face England
Note this is not a West Indies team, there are too many political selections as Stanford has to cater to the Leeward Islanders (particularly Antiguans) to please the locals. The captain will be announced after the second training camp is completed. For once our players have been treated like professionals and have been training as a group for a long time (Dwayne Bravo aggravated an injury during the preliminary training camp).
Lionel Baker (Montserrat)
Sulieman Benn (Barbados)
Shivnarine Chanderpaul (Guyana)
Lennox Cush (Guyana)
Rayad Emrit (Trinidad and Tobago)
Andre Fletcher (Grenada)
Chris Gayle (Jamaica)
Chad Hampson (Antigua and Barbuda)
Lindon James (St Vincent and the Grenadines)
Sylvester Joseph (Antigua and Barbuda)
Xavier Marshall (Jamaica)
Dave Mohammed (Trinidad and Tobago)
Kieron Pollard (Trinidad and Tobago)
Daren Powell (Jamaica)
Ramnaresh Sarwan (Guyana)
Jerome Taylor (Jamaica)
The names you might not have heard of:
Lionel Baker - He's a fast bowler from the tragic island of Montserrat (completely ruined by volcanic eruptions). He broke Brian Lara's arm with a fast bouncer and is certainly nippy. He can get smacked about occasionally though so he is an odd choice (more out of sentiment then anything else).
Lennox Cush - A right handed slogger and useful off spin bowler from Guyana. He is pretty much past it and doesn't make the Guyana FC team. This is pretty much a 'thank you for your service to domestic cricket in the Caribbean' selection.
Chad Hampson - Antiguan medium pacer who is very accurate and bowls a nice yorker. He shouldn't really be near a West Indies squad and this is definitely a dottie pick.
Lindon James - A Vincentian wicket keeper who is without doubt the best gloveman in the Caribbean. He is a youngster on the fringes of selection and get hit a fairly long ball too.

What's with the 3 Trinidad players in the squad? Would it not make more sense for them to play for Trinidad in this tournament?
Re: Stanford 20-20 superstars squad to face England
Stanford Superstars take precedence over the domestic team. Besides, the Trinis can put out a very decent unit even without those 3 so it doesn't really matter.
R.E Lara, the guy is not a money grabber (unlike Harmy it would seem ). He has made loads of money from cricket, endorsements and he is also in the property business. The last thing he would want to do is deny the likes of Cush and young Baker a payday when they struggle to earn enough to make a living.

I'm quite looking forward to these games. Not bothered if England win them or not. They're certainly not playing for the glory of representing their country but a huge wad of cash instead so fark em!! Let's be clear they are only representing themselves on this occasion.
More intrigued to see how the sods perform with that carrot dangling over them!

Can't say I'm that interested in the game at all really.
Besides, I'll be on the lash in one of either Brussels or Bruges when the game is played.
I know what I'd rather be doing.

If Lara is in the propert business, he most definitely needs the money at the moment!

He is making a shedload in Barbados, which has become his second home. He is one West Indian cricketer who invested his money wisely.
