I just noticed a match completed in the latest round of SA domestic cricket and Morne Morkel took 6/47 and 5/9 and made 82 not out against a team which included Kallis, Boucher, Prince, Botha and Ntini.

That's a fair effort. I actually think if he could get his action to be slightly purer he has more potential than Steyn with his height, strength and high release point. Add his batting and you can have a good package.

There seem to be a lot of low scores in their cricket.

I wonder how Bangladesh will fare in those pitches in a few weeks time.

Just as a matter of interest, Morne and Albie Morkel have been chosen as two of the five South African Cricketers of the Year. The others are Johan Botha, Dillon du Preez and Monde Zondeki.

Is there a quota on the cricketer of the year too?
