Bishop compliment for Morne Morkel.

Neil Manthorp was just interviewed on the ABC regarding the imminent series against the Proteas. Thank goodness, he and not a COC, is coming. Among other things he said that Bishop who was a co-commentator on SABC said tht out of anyone whom the erstwhile paceman has seen over the past decade, Morkel most emulates Ambrose's ability to bowl unplayable balls and is incredibly promising but needs more consistency. Manthorp thinks Morkel could end up being the surprise packet and if he fires might be the one most likely to earn a surprise victory for SA. But he tempered his expecatations for the series by saying that he travels with each team with a great deal of anticipation but they manage to get sidetracked and underperform etc. He thinks man for man (given our recently depleted strength) that this is the team with the best chance of upsetting us.

Glenn? Joey? Julie? the Bronster? Arch Desmond Tutu?

Morne Morkel, a tough one to decide on. Is he good enough? Is he the raw deal like Steyn that will blow away the Aussies on Pacey Tracks? Or is he injury bound after not fixing his radar? Most bowlers in the World haven't got their radars correct, especially new and young ones.


Morne Morkels default Length is just back of a good length due to his height and delivery. I think Michael Atherton suggested that he should pitch the ball up a bit more, when he played against England.

He does look like a good prospect, I'm worried he'll fade away and become more average, than "Great".
