Letter to bank Empty Letter to bank

Post by taipan Fri 24 Oct 2008, 12:03

Dear Sirs,
In view of what seems to be happening internationally with banks at the moment, I was wondering if you could advise me correctly…
You have marked my cheque "insufficient funds," How do I know whether that refers to me, or to you?

Response from bank:

Dear Mr. Taipan,

The bank has adequate funds to meet its commitments, I assure you. The cheque you cut couldn't be honoured as you have zilch in your account. It does take courage though, to pay for a red light fling with a dicy instrument knowing the state of your reserves. An overdraft could not be granted because some of our other clients informed us that that might be a gamble. We advice you to try our credit card the next time. We not only charge you a flat 29% but you are covered by life insurance as a bonus.

In future, we advice you to take to hand work instead. Its risk-free on all counts.

Very sincerely yours,

jim rich

That's far too personal for a banks reply. Mine are usually some corporate spiel....

Yup. Take a credit card. Then pay up your nose in interest. Than take another credit card to repay debits from the first card. Then pay up more interest and in the end when the person in debt chooses to commit suicide under the excessive card payment burden, his family can benefit from his card insurance.........

If you take a credit card at the moment you'll be borrowing the money that you paid to help bail the banks out with 30%+ interest on top. Happy days!

The actual reply and I swear this is true.

Funny – if you go to the banks your atm card will also say “insufficient funds”,
