For this

"Injury-prone former Australia paceman Brett Lee is working hard to get back on the field and views next year's ICC World Cup as potentially perfect for his international swansong.

The 33-year-old's career has stalled several times in recent years because of injuries to his foot, ankle, side and thumb.

Lee was forced to withdraw from the Australia squad for the recent World Twenty20 in the Caribbean due to an arm injury.

While he has already retired from Test cricket, Lee was adamant he still wants to represent Australia in the Twenty20 and 50-over formats.

Lee said his NSW program for the coming summer still had to be arranged but he was keen to resume playing and was even contemplating a first Sydney grade appearance in 15 years.

Despite missing the World Twenty20, Lee said his fitness had improved to the extent where he might almost have been available for Australia's current tour of England.

"I've been training hard and I probably could have pushed to go over to England, but I thought I wanted to get a really good base behind me and get some stuff dome in the gym and get my fitness up to a level that I'm very happy with,'' Lee said.

"Then looking forward to probably the next two to three months to do a comeback and sort of take it from there.''

Lee is being driven by the desire to play at the 2011 World Cup to be held next February and March in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

"To me a World Cup in India in 2011, because of my love for India and the stuff I do over there, it would be a great way to finish, I would have thought,'' Lee said.

The New South Wales paceman said he would consider playing cricket for up to another two years."
