England's ODI team Empty England's ODI team

It just occured to me how reluctant they are to get their best players involved early on in a match, where games are so often won and lost. Why do they bat Pietersen down at 4 rather than 3? Why don't they give the new ball to Flintoff? They Always let the tone of the match get set (usually against them) before they turn to their best players to try and dig them out of the shit, rather than letting those best players dictate the tempo and momentum of the game from the start. Often there's too much work to be done....

Basically, we're relying on Ian Bell and James Anderson to set the tone for us in ODI games- A recipe for disaster, as these guys are the 2 least assertive players in the England team.

Is the light coming from an alien planet?

They did play one good game away from home. That was in the Commonweath Bank Cup a while back.

Collingwood played well. Get rid of Bell. He's a ring in.

a bit like inzi, younis and yousuf for pakistan. i think they used to bat 4, 5 & 6, sometimes even one spot lower. the best players need to shoulder more responsibility in odis, its limited overs ffs
