Re: How far can Jimmy go?
Good player. I would never have thought him obscure. The ‘79 series v Pakistan was very memorable for all sorts of reasons. One obscure Test player from the same series finished with a Test batting average of 60.

And scored the winning runs.
For a Victorian named Jeff, Moss was OK. He was unlucky not to get a Test berth earlier in the WSC era, esp v India seeing as he always carved up the spinners at the SCG under Simmo's nose

Re: How far can Jimmy go?
I'm guessing you mean Jon Moss? Jeff as best I remember was/is not of the persuasion

It was horrie who suggested Jeff Moss was Jewish; that was news to me. Jon Moss I barely remember as Maxwell-lite.

Re: How far can Jimmy go?
Jon Moss was a Sidneylander who couldn't get near their Shield team for Lees, Waughs, Taylors and sundry others and hit highway 31 in time for the 2003-4 Shield win. The ODI selectors may have been vaguely interested in him for about five minutes.

Re: How far can Jimmy go?
Apparently* Fred found out late in his life that he had Jewish ancestors through his mother's side, and therefore was considered a Jew and happy to be known as such. He expressed some concern about possibly having to swear off bacon.

Good decision by Jimmeh, even if Mukka and Blob forced his hand.
Go out on top rather than after your aging body allows you to get flogged around the park by much younger eyes and hands.

Well, it does end where it began.
