Pakistan have so many excuses now....
which can be used when they lose to India
"So what we lost the test series...didn't AUS lose 2 nil?"
"So what we lost the ODI series...didn't England lose 7 nil/6-1?"
"So what we lost? we haven't played test cricket for 14 months?"
" We lost because we have a very young team and a very young captain who is still learning the art"
"We lost because M yousuf and A Razzaq went to ICL"
now the question is WILL they use these excuses and not "turn up" or will they put up a fight like they did under Younis Khan's captaincy in Karachi, Kolkata and Banglore?
p.s PAK plays better against IND than against other teams is a myth.

Will there be any play at all? Is India touring there? I haven't read the latest developments on this front. Can you please help here?

Besides we're so accustomed to see Indian team playing int'l cricket for last 2-3 years that it'd be nothing short of travesty if Indian fans manage to miss 50-60 days of not seeing their team in a cricket field.

Surely BCCI won't allow this barren period in Indian cricket. The One wrote:well india has a large gap next year between may and october. we are not touring england and cant play anywhere else

T20 in ENG in MAY
What the heck? that just sounds so ironic that they are going to play a bang bang event when the ball is suppose to seam all over the place(remember the early parts of the 1999 WC)

thats probably a plus for pakistan. he's got a pretty poor record against india. since that 1st test in calcutta he averages 42.4 with 20 wickets in 9 matches

Yep, Shoaib has been decidedly poor against us apart from very few flashes of brilliance.
Though I'd love to see him in Pak's starting XI to take us on simply because of his charisma, aura and buzz attached with him, I'm sure those things won't be of much use for Pak.

TBH i will take a fit Shoaib even if he was averaging 117.93
but unfortunately he isn't fit enough(out of shape due to the long ban) and should NOT be considered.

why not? entertainment is a huge part of the game....SG wrote:Yep, Shoaib has been decidedly poor against us apart from very few flashes of brilliance.

Tendulkar hitting a 4 or a 6 of Shoaib is far more entertaining than a 4 or 6 of R Iftikhar

you can rest assured that he won't be 'fit'.
he will play in an odd ODI or two.
Re: Pakistan have so many excuses now....
yeah the great man(Lawson) was perhaps right that he Shoaib should only focus on ODIs now.

Astonishing to see that there are reasons apart from security which may prevent some Pak cities to host matches against India, if at all Pak gets to host the series.

Cricinfo lists a tour of WI by India in late Jun-09 which comprises of 4 ODIs and no tests.well india has a large gap next year between may and october.
How is that possible?

Re: Pakistan have so many excuses now....
I think the idea of swapping the series with India is the best. Visit India now and let them visit next year when they were due to host Pak. Hopefully the security scenario is better by then. If not, nuetral venues.
But then again does BCCI have a plan in place to host Pak in such a short time? One would have thought they would have considered that option and worked out a list of venues by now?

Another T20 world cup?
Wasn't there one about a fortnight ago?
Will there be a new T20 world cup every other Tuesday?
It seems to organisers don't have much faith in the long term future of this format

it doesnt take long to organise grounds. this is cricket season in india, most test grounds will be hosting matches anyways, just need to reschedule a ranji match to another stadium

Alam has started making noises to bring in the showboat again. Why is it that everytime the runt is finally out of the side for good with his antics, he is invariably back to play India? It is certain he will be back come India again. An India series ALWAYS means a comeback for the doping, brainless showpony.....
