Cricketing months
During what months can test cricket reasonably be played in the various countries?
Thanks to the venues at Darwin and Cairns, you can pretty much play cricket at any time of the year in Australia, and I gather it is much the same in India.
What would be the limits for the other countries?

As I said, I don't think you can go outside of the current time frame.

England/Wales: April to September. The weather isn't generally good but daylight is at it's longest.

Re: Cricketing months
Whilst our cricket season generally starts early May and finishes late September, the ideal test playing months are mid June to end August, with the mandatory rain showers thrown in of course!

Re: Cricketing months
Part of the problem with modern cricketers is that they're soft.
Football codes, of all persuasions, have extended their seasons further and further. Cricket should bite the bullet, slacken off the wet weather and bad light rules, and get out there and play. Bring back sticky wickets, uncovered pitches and the back-foot no-ball rule, and play the game all year around.

Re: Cricketing months
There are some centres in India which are outside the monsoon belt. The June - Sep is the SW monsoon, during this time the centres which come under the later NE monsoon (Sep - Nov) are OK. The one issue though is that leading up to the monsoon all these places will be extremely sticky and uncomfortable. Could be OK for Day - night Cricket with a late start.

Re: Cricketing months
So I assume that the monsoon months for SL, Pakistan and Bdesh are the same as those for Inja.
How about the West Indies? They seem to play at most times of year.
