Apart from their shaky looking batting with their best Kallis out of form, and some of their others such as Smith, Prince and Amla having suspect techniques, McKenzie has never been a natural opener, Boucher has been problematic in the past couple of years, Bangladesh ton notwithstanding, while their tail has no batting sting in it. Can anybody from #8 onwards actually bat?

Yeah I know Boxing day in Melb is set in concrete but even allowing for that WTF is this game starting on Wednesday?
Seems we can forget all this guff about the 'old WACA pitch'. The curator would know damn fine whose head rolls if the game is stone dead by Saturday.

Game was originally starting yesterday (a traditional Thursday kick off) but was moved to next week because of the IPL...which of course then never happened. I think it has to be Wednesday to give more of a break, given the Boxing and NY Tests are back to back...
The Test wicket during yesterday’s game was covered with a tarpaulin...never seen that happen during a game.

Yeah, makes sense - insofar as any program-setting by CA ever does.
I saw that tarp - had 'OH&S issue' written all over it. If some clumsy bastard had fallen over the edge and done an ankle, the caterwauling would have been audible in New Zealand.

I remember speaking with him when he coached WA under 19s, he had some stories to tell.
Morkel seems to be playing.
I suppose Sooky went out the same way he usually does when bowled, hitting across the line to an inswinger.
