Re: ***Official 08/09 Sheffield Shield comp***
If Aust go 2 down it wouldn't surprise to see Hughes play. I don't think he's ready mind you - Ntini will fancy his chances against him.

Hughes will go to South Africa, imo. Jaques wont have played for 8 months, and Rogers is widely considered to be a c*nt off the field. Wouldn't be surprised to see Hughes striding out with Katich for the first test (At the Wanderers?)

West End Redbacks 7 14 -0.091 2
Retravision Warriors 5 12 0.044 0
RTA SpeedBlitz Blues 8 11 -0.794 1
there seems to be some familiar themes across both comps...the bottom and top three are the same with slight variations...
one consistent theme is the impoverished form of the spivs..a clear last in both comps...things could get worse tho - esp if bung is promoted from the test team
the billies have surprised in both comps and the chips have a strong case to suggest their kids as a group are better than the spiv kids..they have played better since Roy was dropped to the Australian side
after a slow start the tozzies have broken into a gallop
the barrels are more competitive than in prior years...
the little worriers have disappointed a bit with the bowling stocks hit by injury and the batting - north aside- out of sorts.
the vix have performed fairly to date, tho Sid had to be dropped at one stage to the Oz team...all in all things are grouse in vixville

Once again NSW is sacrificing itself for the good of the nation. Playing our second XI against hardened FC players will only be good for the national side down the track.

No, it's at the Gabba. Want to see a bit of Warner and Hughes though.

I'd say he'd be on the Saf tour even if he doesn't play. Ponting was making a big deal of wanting to see "more" of the fringe players (hence MILF missing out) so I'd say they'd be keen to get him a part of the squad.
Of course, as a fan I'd like to see more of Hayden and Hussey ATM.

I'd like to see more of Hayden playing state cricket. His time has passed. Hussey - it's only a matter of time, hopefully.
The Drunk is missing the chance to leave a legacy in cricket, he could start lobbying actively for more young players in the team, as opposed to te squad.

NSW off to a good start against QLD in the Twenty20 Big Bash.
Billies 2/18 after 2.4. Bollinger looking menacing.

Good to see Cameron back in the Blue shirt, even if he got smashed in his last over.

The Gabba is looking atrocious - fair dinks, my local suburban park would be easier to field on. WTF is going on up there?
