Test crowd in perth
must say I was impressed at the size of the wozzie crowd yesterday...apparently 13,000 turned up in a surprisingly good result for the State most at risk of losing its summer test match...
if crowds remain consistently at this level, the Worriers may have averted the threat of losing its test to the Dubbers who have been lobbying for two summer tests

Not before time. But then again, given the number of Expat Jaapies in Perth, hardly surprising.
And Perth mightget a few more SAffie Tests in future, as they don't seem to want to play at the MCG Boxing Day match any more.

If this ends up a close one (which on current evidence it well might), I hope the tallies on Day 4 and 5 are closer to 20000.

Meh, the cameramen in Yarptown always manage to find some stunners with half their jugs hanging out the side of their singlets. Choice.

If the test is competitive it will also set up a bumper crowd for Boxing Day. It was reported at the weekend that sales for the Melbourne test at this stage are second only to what they were for the Ashes a couple of years ago.

Debbie, do you ever think before hitting 'Send'?Red wrote:If the test is competitive it will also set up a bumper crowd for Boxing Day. It was reported at the weekend that sales for the Melbourne test at this stage are second only to what they were for the Ashes a couple of years ago.
Allow me to explain.
If the ticket sales are "second only to what they were for the Ashes a couple of years ago" then it has already "set up a bumper crowd for Boxing Day" irrespective of what happens for the rest of this Test.

Optus Stadium allowing full attendance from July 16
Boxing Day Test to be in Perth
as well as the McGrath Test
and the hard borders will still be in place so eozzies will need to watch it on the tv

expecting CA to chase the offer with the most coin. But if the Test is in Perth, then no BBL games after the days play?

Phurt. The was border closure is a joke. Anyone can cross with an exemption and the list of reasons is longer than war and peace. I think the only one refused has been Clive Palmer.
Hopefully when all this is over the HC might look at those bullshit quarantine inspections they've been protecting they're inefficient producers from for years.

Yep. One additional thing we know is the crowd at the Perth Tests will be forgettable.
The WA Premier has played the sport politics and public health issue pretty well. If the season continues, it is now probable the AFL Grand Final will be held there,
