Countless people must be thoroughly sick of humble pie.

ROFL, this reminded me of the sceptical and derisory BBC radio commentary immediately preceding the Gatting Ball. The subsequent choking on humble pie in the commentary box was hilarious.

All of us who love the game end up making predictions and judgements about individual players. Sometimes we are wrong. I along with a few other Oz fans was mystified when Steve Smith kept being selected. In his early days many inc me referred to him as "Specialist Fielder", as that seemed the only attribute he seemed to have.

I will admit to Amla and Philander. Amla because initially his technique was so awful with the backlift in the direction of gully. He worked hard to rectify that.

Philander still mystifies me somewhat. He was so awful when picked for the JAMODI team. His reincarnation as. Test opening bowler was confusing.

Aye Taips. Early on I was not convinced by either player. Nowadays both are approaching legend status in Test cricket.
