Hayden dropped from limited overs squads
http://content-aus.cricinfo.com/ausvrsa2008_09/content/current/story/385690.html
Matthew Hayden is clinging to his international career after being told he is not in Australia's limited-overs plans. Hayden, who had an awful Test summer of 149 runs at 16.55, was omitted as the selectors looked to players who could be part of the World Twenty20 in England in June and the 2011 World Cup.
Despite his poor returns since overcoming a long-term heel injury, Hayden has won team support to push on to the Ashes. However, Andrew Hilditch, the chairman of selectors, has softened his stance by refusing to say Hayden is a certainty for the series in South Africa starting next month.
"We are moving on," Hilditch said of the decision in Sydney. "There is no doubt our advance plans were for Matthew to go through to the Ashes. That would be our ideal outcome. We've got to sit down as a panel to make a decision whether it's still the way to go."

Good on Rhino. Big opportunity for him and Warner. It might just be rubbish cricket, but they'll still have the roo and the 'mu on their uniforms.

I agree entirely...I have the same thought about why anyone would play banindia in a jamodi, given they are most likely to be banned from international cricket by the 2011 WC

Sounding a bit ominous for Hayden now. Hilditch said that the selection panel had previously thought that he was in their plans for the SA and England tours but will now have to sit down and debate it. He's conceded that Hayden's test future is in doubt.

It is the most unfair sacking of a Qlder since the Healy debacle.

Re: Hayden dropped from limited overs squads
AFAIC the Galoot very much has a used-by-date. I think sending him back to Shield is a good thing. If he scores a mountain of runs then maybe he should be retained for the Yarp tour. If not, then Fleas and Frog (if fit and has some Shield runs under his belt) should be the opening pair for Saffietown, with Phews as the spare opener for the Ashes tour.
Re: The JAMITT and JAMODI squads:
Twenty20 squad Ricky Ponting (capt), Michael Hussey, David Hussey, Ben Hilfenhaus, James Hopes, Nathan Bracken, Brad Haddin (wk), Shaun Marsh, Shaun Tait, David Warner, Ryan Harris, Cameron White, Nathan Hauritz.
One-day squad Ricky Ponting (capt), Michael Clarke, Brad Haddin (wk), James Hopes, Nathan Bracken, Shaun Marsh, Michael Hussey, David Hussey, Nathan Hauritz, Ben Hilfenhaus, Cameron White, Shaun Tait, Peter Siddle.
... looks a pretty good pair of squads, although I'm with JGK in questioning Haurie's credentials.

the suburbs guy election was improbable...tho understandable in the circumstances...
horrors will play in forms of cricket that he is more suited to...Hopes deserves selection tho Ronnie is very unlucky

Apart from that he's a really great guy, so yes I agree with you.

"My immediate future is to go back home to my family and the people that love me the most and just enjoy this time, to take guard again," Hayden told the Australian.
So it's just the family and Bhajji, then?
