Because he is an arrogant, hypocritical, bullying, unmitigated c*nt?
Apart from that he's a really great guy, so yes I agree with you.
hmm yeah i forgot about that part(s)

horrors will play in forms of cricket that he is more suited to...Hopes deserves selection tho Ronnie is very unlucky
Seems weird that Ronnie is the preferred Test player but Hopes the preferred JAMODI/TT player. I would have thought that Hopes is slightly better in all forms.

hopes is more a jamodi player, but not as miserly with the ball or as attacking with the bat

I can't think of a recent (ie in my adult life) case where a Billy was seriously unfairly dropped, though I do think Bichel could have been given a few more series, given that they went for Lee instead.

i thought kasper was a bit hard done by...'spose slaw was only selected to cover an injury for his only test and therefore it could not be said his dropping was seriously unfair...besides given it was slaw nothing could be unfair

Well I'll be.
Marilyn Manson's real surname is Warner.
So what has Hayden got before the series in Jaapistan? Some rubbish cricket, three Frangers, and one shield match. Hard to see what he can do to prove himself over the next month.

On the other hand Symonds was very much afforded selectorial largesse after the 'gone fishing' incident.

"i thought kasper was a bit hard done by.."
A bit. But it is not as though he had ever cemented his place in the team with a streak of brilliance.

Re: Hayden dropped from limited overs squads
our schedule is so out of whack it is not funny...given the tests finish in the new year, Jan would be an ideeal time for heavy shield engagements...esp for young players wanting to be considered for tours or oldies like Unit who need time in the middle to get back into form

i think one of the times he was dumped happened after he carried the attack in subiville...he was a very capable 3rd seamer and fulfilled important roles...always rated him more highly than bix as a bowler

Re: Hayden dropped from limited overs squads
The writing is well and truly on the wall for Hayden. In fact, i'd suggest that the selectors have pretty much made up their minds about him and have offered this subtle hint to retire before he's not announced in the touring squad to South Africa in a couple of weeks.

Martin Love and Stuart Law could claim they weren't helped by the selectors.
It's not the same as being dropped unfairly (both were filling in for injured players) but it shows that Queenslanders haven't exactly been getting preferential treatment.

If they haven't been getting preferential treatment Hayden would be long departed from the team.

Re: Hayden dropped from limited overs squads
Hayden _has_ been given an extended period to right himself, but that was probably on the basis of the fact that for five years he was one of the best openers in history.
Whether this is unfairly preferential treatment, or merely a reflection of undue optimism by the selectors, is a moot point.
My own view is that he is well due for the tap on the shoulder.
It's a less clearcut case than that of Lee, for instance, who has only looked like a Test-class bowler for one year of his life (2000), and shows no signs of fixing his foot work or getting wickets at fewer than 30 runs a piece, but has been under no real selection pressure.

Re: Hayden dropped from limited overs squads
I think given the Tubby debacle, where he was picked to open for a very long time to open, despite the absence of runs, the selectors were hoping something similar would happen with Haydne by way of runs coming again.
Alas, this didn't happen.
Also, Tubby was picked because he was captain, and the side was winning at the time.

Re: Hayden dropped from limited overs squads
Law like Magoo suffered because he was in the right place at the wrong time. Magoo suffered because he was playing at the same time as Warne. Likewise Law also suffered at a time when the middle order was packed with quite a few legendary to very good bats, leaving no place for him, save the bench.....

Law was also a stuck up, abrasive prick. He'd probably walk into the current side......
