Bit of a thrashing in the end against a side that includes Haddin, Hopes and Hodge!
Hmm... when you had Hogg and Hayden, nearly half the team are Hs.

Nice shot by Dhoni near the end to nearly wipe out Sreesanth. He was clearly biding his time waiting for a half volley so he could put a spell on Harry Potter.
Re: India v Australia, 2nd ODI, Kochi, 2nd Oct
'St' Gilchrist again shows what a great sport he is by crying out "yes!!" when Sreesanth gets hit on the side of the head. I wonder how he would have felt if Sreesanth turned out to be seriously hurt?

Phurt - Gilly is so ace he would have instantly known that Sreesanath was perfectly fine. If Sreesanath had been injured, Gilly is so ace he could have performed brain surgery on him in the middle of the pitch.

What, he would have put a monkey brain in Sreesanth?

Hmmm, shame it's not containing the likes of Cullen, Casson, Cowan and Clingeleffer to go with the likes of Clark & Clarke, because a team full of C's would be much more accurate.
Re: India v Australia, 2nd ODI, Kochi, 2nd Oct
Fair play to Gilly. I'd have cheered even louder if I saw that cnut get pinned.
Re: India v Australia, 2nd ODI, Kochi, 2nd Oct
I actually think Australia are more comfortable in one day cricket on slow, low pitches with the bowling attack that they have, and that India, with guys like Yuvraj and Uthappa, would prefer the ball coming onto the bat more.
The younger Indian players are much more adept at batting on faster, bouncier pitches than the the older generation.

Is Kochi anywhere near Wankhede? Would make scheduling these series easier. If they used Kochi twice they could finish off with Wankhede?

good assessment. gambhir is the one batsman who would probably prefer low, slow pitches - he comes from the old school of indian batting.
just watching the replays, was a bit shocked to hear gilly shout "Oh Yes!" after santh got hit - bit low i thought, not something you expect from gilly.
india pounded - aus too good. nothing ever changes.

Maybe he was pleased that Sreesanth had saved 4 runs . . .

Quick, clear all lines! Dispatch the following message to Marshal Charau d' Pouwar who's marching into Hyderabad with reinforcements from the Maharashtra Under-XVI Legion; "Kylie Minogue has a long mustache! I repeat "Kylie Minogue has a long mustache!"
Re: India v Australia, 2nd ODI, Kochi, 2nd Oct
Clinical stuff from the aussies, i really though with our best one day bowler and ponting and hussey out we would struggle a fair bit in this series.

So, we conceded 300+ after playing with 5 bowlers again? Wow, am I shocked!
Oh well, Ganguly for Powar next match if they have any sense.

Yep, and Aussies need to replace Hodge with someone . . . Maybe Ponting is worth trying?

read on another thread, aus have made 300+ batting first on their last 10 attempts. what a machine. both these games we picked up early wickets, otherwise 350 wouldve been on. i still feel hayden is key though.

And both these games we've had two passengers in the bowling line-up. When the part-timers have to fill up the overs, why not play an all-out batsman.
