South Africa under 19s v England under 19s
England currently getting a lesson in one how to play one day cricket by the young Saffies.
The young batting talent in England seems to be drying up. Who is there under 25- Denly, Bopara, and.....? Sam Northeast is highly rated, but he seems to be a Bell clone- All obsessed with technique, and forgetting to actually hit the ball.

That looks like it's actually quite a young batch of U19 cricketers as I haven't heard of most of them.
The standout player (although he didn't have a great game) amongst that lot is Liam Dawson who I like the look of.

Wheater was a few years below me at school. Seems to be breaking into the Essex side when Foster is injured/rested. Done ok I think.

He was miniature, but then he was only 14. He's probably widened out by now. Become 'ghetto' in the way public school county cricketers do.

Only surprising thing about this match
The Pakistan born cricketer playing in this match is playing for SA and NOT for ENG

I think you'll find that most of the British Asian cricketers born after about 1983 were born in England.

Will England try to entice the best young saffas to sign Kolpak agreements?

I actually know quite a few British Asians who are around 40 years old YET they were born in England....don't think i know ANY south Asian American over the age of 40 who was born in America.

Um, shouldn't they just be regarded as British then?

Well yes they should. And they are. But they are still of Asian descent. That's not a negative thing, is it? Just a fact. Just like how in South Africa, you know them as white, black, or coloured, despite them all being born in South Africa.

Yep, but that is a descriptive term not a geographical term.
Do you have a link to the score BTW.

Thanks.
I see Vandiar was in the runs. I was tipping him to Jill only last week.

This boy could be the real deal. His bowling arm went past the vertical occasionally when seen on TV last season, but that should be easily cured.

was more his busy batting that caught my eye tbh, reminded me of a busy Shane Watson type. Fear he's a little bit stumpy to make the grade at a higher level as a bowler.

In that case, he'll need to learn to give the ball a proper tweak.
