Sri Lanka v England, 2nd ODI, Dambulla, 4th Oct
Can England - even at this early stage - prevent the whitewash?

I'm sorry - but who the f*** cares? We had an (admitdedly) interesting ODI series against India. The 20/20 W.C. (which we were shoite at) and now - the best of 137 ODIs against Sri Lanka! ( seems like it anyway)
Anyone want to start a thread about an overweight underachiever and then let it morph into a "Bell is Bollocks" thread.
Please don't - REALLY please don't!

England might consider dropping one of Anderson, Broad, or Sidebottom to play Monty. Other than that they'll be unchanged.

Sidebottom bowled well first up and Monty will help England's cause if he gets a go and what have England got to lose by including him?
To beat Sri Lanka at home would test any side.
Win the toss and bat Paul.

The wicket in Dambulla that was supposed to have pace and bounce fooled everyone including the Sri Lankans, and given the way Swann spun the ball occasionally I reckon Monty will definitely play, probably at the expense of Broad. Although the way we batted I wouldn't be surprised if it was Anderson or Sidebottom.

Same team.
'Give the boys the chance to redeem themselves.'
At least we won the toss.

I think some SL supporters feel sorry for us, embarassed that we're only 10/1 off 5 overs and simply tried to cause a distraction. They are kind.

I'm not so sure. According to Angus Fraser he could be the new Glenn McGrath.

I'll retract that statement and replace it with "when I've ever seen him he's been nothing but a pedestrian dobber and uncultured slogger who can't slog very well".
