Clearly, evidentily, plainly, obviously, undoubtedly, unmistakably.

He shouldn't have played until his action was altered to sort the problem out once and for all.

Perhaps they should put Simon Jones out of his misery and harvest his ankle for transplant.
Strap it to Fred, and away we go.

But doesn't he need a brain as well?

He's pigeon-toed. Naturally his ankle should be at the angle it is.

Well for a start, he shouldnt play again for the rest of this series. I heard Collingwood talking about him possibly being fit for the next match. But why risk further damage?

They go blue when you've clicked on them to remind you of what you've just done.
Re: Freddie's Ankle FARKED Again!
He's got to play through it though IMO
Otherwise he's going to permanently be sitting out games to get right.
He said himself he's never going to be 100% again.
Wouldn't surprise me if he's not around long after the 2009 Ashes - thats probably the big target in his mind

Maybe.
He's not quite at the SiJo stage of crockedness yet though.

Well, if he can't bowl, why would you choose him? He wasn't a great captain and he's not one of the best ten bats in England.
Why he's playing these meaningless games is beyond me.

Re: Freddie's Ankle FARKED Again!
He may be better off retiring from Tests and playing only ODI's. Very un-English, I know, but I really think he's a bigger loss for us in the shorter form of the game than the longer version. He's probably the worlds best ODI bowler.
Can he get through a Test as part of a 4 man attack? Very doubtful. And his batting hasnt been good enough to keep him in the Test side since the 05 Ashes.

Maybe it's because England are paying him a six-figure sum as part of his central contract and they'd quite like to get some kind of return for their money this summer...

They usually announce the new batch of CCs when the winter squads are named - which I believe is sometime this week.
If Marcus Trescothick and Simon Jones get another one (can you believe Jones got one this year?), the ECB must have money to burn.

Re: Freddie's Ankle FARKED Again!
So I guess Prior will replace Geraint, Bopara and Shah will replace Trescothick and Strauss, and Stuart Broad will replace Simon Jones? Unless Anderson wasn't given one last year. Cant remember....Cant be bothered finding out, either.

I can't see that Bopara & Shah have yet established themselves enough to warrant a central contract. Nor Broad tbh...

I don't think they HAVE to award contracts just because they can.
(Expect all 3 to be awarded contracts then)

Re: Freddie's Ankle FARKED Again!
I don't know if they'll cut Strauss entirely.
I reckon the chances are he'll be in the touring party as, even if the go with Cook and Vaughan to open, there's no-one else in England really demanding selection as back-up opener.
Keysie's found a bit form lately, but I'd imagine that ship has sailed.
