For a 3 Test tour of Sri Lanka, we might be able to get away with having Ian Bell as a backup opener.

I think it's more likely that Strauss will captain the A side this winter.

If he's dropped, he'll be dropped. He's got nothing to prove in A team cricket.

Being such a huge man, and having to carry all that weight, he will continue to have these problems due to the fast bowling efforts .
Should follow Graeme Smith's example and become a batsman / occasional spinner.

Unlikely, considering he hasn't had a stretch of 3 months without an injury during the last 2 1/2 years. It will be a pure lottery as to whether he is fit and firing whilst the Aussies are in town.
