Loud mouth but colourful. I once saw him in a charity match long after he'd retired and some first grader sledged him prior to his first delivery.

After the first delivery the first grader took strike from square leg.

Recently Thommo said that if they had today's speed guns back when he was bowling, he would have registered 180k. Certainly a colourful character.

I say let's get all the so-called current quicks back and measure them under the same rules.

According to Thommo ( who was told by a tv channel technician)

The speed at which Thommo and the other quicks at the time was the speed of the ball at the batsman ....

Todays speeds are speeds out of the hand ...
