Freddie Flintoff?

Why is this specifically for my attention, by the way? Don't get me wrong, I'm flattered, but also a bit confused.

Specially for winkle spinner, here is a jazz alternative ....

Modern:

Dave Douglas (tp), Steve Swell and Ros Rudd (tb), Pat Patrick (misc saxes) and Ellery Eskelin (ts), Billy Bang (vln), Misja Mengelberg Giorgio Gaslini or Cyrus Chestnut (p), Arild Andersen (b), Brian Blade or Billy Brooks (d)

Main/bop/cool:

Benny Bailey, Tommy Turrentine, Conte Candoli, Red Rodney (tp), Frank Foster (ts), Adrian Acea (p) or Elaine Elias (p/voc), Ahmed Abdul-Mailk or Monk Montgomery (b), Philly Joe Jones or Jo Jones (d)

Figs/Swing:

Bix (cnt), Bunny Berigan (tp), Miff Mole (tb), Mezz Mezzrow, Woody Walder and Fats Fazola (weird clarinets) .... and I have no idea of the rhythm.

Specially for Winkle Spinner: Do you know that lot? Have you got any others in your bag? Very Happy

Time is no object in these wistful/meaningless compilations.

Billy Barnes is no spring chicken either.

I had never even heard of "The Tragic" Billy Bates, to be honest. Seems a fair bid as a bowler for the Second Eleven.

On a serious note: Easily the "biggest" letter in the alliterative names in those lists seems to be "B".

I suppose B- being short for R and W names (Robert, William) is part of it.
Also, perhaps "BB" sounds more brimmingly manly than most other alliterations.

But once again, some parents have a lot to answer for. Arthur Arthur takes the biscuit.
