Crapness has got to be measured over a certain number of games I would think.
Richard Logan springs to mind as complete Sh!thouse whenever I think of carp players but he must've had something about him given he's played for 3 counties (I think?)

He was promising for a while, he was an all-rounder for a while and was moving onto pastures new to improve. He ended up being a total wankbag. I'd nominate him above Boswell.

Troy Cooley perhaps. First class average of 60 per wicket I think.

Then again, we probably weren't literally the worst. I mean there must be something like a billion people who've played cricket through the ages.

Re: Worst Player to Never play a Test match?
my all time favourite hopeless cricketer was a team mate. He was also the most enthusiastic cricketer i have ever had the pleasure of playing with..
this guy was a little fellow with a monstro mo (the mo could give shade from the sun for half the Forum) who had an uncanny physical resemblance to Groucho Marx..He played cricket in a manner that groucho would have admired..
..on the rare occasion when he was in a partnership where a run was scored he carried the bat while 'running' as if he was carrying a fountain pen...he could not bat, bowl or catch

"Woodstock". Played for a local team. Named due his similarity in appearance to Snoopy's little birdy friend, not after the festival. Although I'm not sure he got the reference as, towards the end of his time in the team he'd taken to wearing head-bands, had grown a straggly beard and was sporting flared whites.
Batted eleven. Didn't bowl. Charity case.

phurt... we all used to play wearing straggly beards and with head bands (tho this was more in the fond belief that head bands could stop erosion)...never wore the flareed whites...we all sported op shop creams (courtesy of late lawn bowlers)..
woodstock would have been great mates with groucho

Re: Worst Player to Never play a Test match?
Inappropriate in this thread of course, since he DID play a test.
And, like half a Ganteaume, maintains a very respectable career test average...
