i clearly remember watching WI's innings.... Saleem Malik catch to dismiss Simmons was class.

if Lara had been dismissed for a duck(as he probably should have) then WI could easily have been 11/4 or 5...

Simmons took 3/4 in his 10 overs in that match, till date most economical 10-overs ever bowled in ODIs.

What a fabulous team we had back then....

World cup win, shariah wins, numerous test series wins...last ball sixes to tie/win games and other stunning come backs(including the world cup itself)...

and in the middle of all of that numerous controversies, 43 all out, 81 all out, 74 all out, innings defeats , 4/3 to phil simmons


NOT to mention some of the world's fastest and most exciting bowlers

IMO thing with these low scores is that somehow rut just sets in the whole batting lineup, however good it is. Everyone seems to be just hell bent on committing harakiri, like following the theme tu chal main aaya not to underestimate the bowling though.

All out for 43. This wasn't a good day for Pakistan, who cobbled together what was the lowest one-day total at that time. The pitch at Cape Town was a shocker: over-grassed and uneven, and only Zahid Fazal (21) and extras (10) made it to double figures. Courtney Walsh (4 for 16) was the main destroyer. There were a record six ducks, and it took West Indies only 12.3 overs to reach 45 for 3.
