To think the Bees, managed by Terry Butcher, were at the three-quarter mark of last season close to being dumped into the outlands of the Conference. They just about held on, thanks to stand-in manager Andy Scott.

Now they are at the top of the table and looking for promotion. Well done Scotty, and caaaam on yooooooo Beeeeeez!

The big news in Div 2 yesterday was Super Notts consolidating 15th and keeping up their 100% home record in my absence since the end of November - P4, W4.

The games I've attended in the same period - P4, D1, L3. The lone draw was a Cup tie against a non-league side . . . and we lost the replay.

Not seen us win this season in fact, and has been this way for some years now, I'm a farkin' Jonah. Not sure I actually saw us win any game last season until the final rousing run in during which we finally secured our football league future.

Brentford have clearly come a long way since I watched them lose 7-0 against Peterborough at London Road last season. I think it was safe to say that 7-0 flattered the Bees that day, but then again Posh are a class side and Brentford had their keeper sent off after 3 minutes.

Great game - end to end for 90 minutes - fair result.

BUT ... The Bees are horrendous at defending set pieces, and prone to the occasional brain fade (which cost them the lead) ... but a great fightback in the last 20 minutes against a 10 man Wycombe side could've meant a 4 - 3 or 5 - 3 scoreline. Scotty's done a good job - they're definite promotion candidates.

Lever - your Ippy lad, Rhodes, done good too ... good pairing up front with McDonald.
