Re: Fidel Edwards and J Taylor!
Both these guys are better than the following
Clark
Lee
Ntini
Johnson
ALL the kiwis
ALL the S Lankans
Pakistani trio of Asif, Gul and Akhtar doesn't even count because they don't play cricket.
Only bowlers who are ON par or better are
ZAK
I Sharma
Steyn
and....thats about it.
Flintoff is close though.

Even as a West Indian I would have to disagree. Particularly in Edwards' case. He averages 38 in test cricket.

IMHO Taylor is awesome. He is rated 6th in the World at the moment and is bowling incredibly well.
Fidel is awesome on his day, but not often enough. Having said that, he was awesome today and is a very unlucky bowler.

Re: Fidel Edwards and J Taylor!
Zak has more bad gears than the Anderson Cycle ...bowled well against Oz in the last series so everyone seems to forget a lot of his shitness
Johnson , despite some glaring technical problems , has taken a lot of wickets in the last 12 months ...might be scary if he ever works out which way his wrist should point

Re: Fidel Edwards and J Taylor!
Embee, putting Zak and Jimmy Anderson in the same sentence is borderline offensive to fast bowling.
I mean, I know they've had their "off" days, but Zak is immediately more talented than Jimmy farking Anderson.
Anderson might bowl some absolute beauts when he feels like it, but overall, Zak has gained a sense of consistency in recent years. He's learnt, I don't think Anderson has learnt AS MUCH as Zak in the past 2 or 3 years.

Nice. Isn't it the way in Cricket for bowlers to go in cycles. Some are more illustrated than others. There are a few exceptions to the rule however.

Re: Fidel Edwards and J Taylor!
These two bowl quite well together but they're quite a way from being Ambrose and Walsh though.
But I have to say that I am tired of constant references by Tony Cozier to the glory days of WI fast bowling and the 1980's and all that. I think he overdoes it.

Zaheer
Clark
Taylor
Morkel
Johnson
Edwards
Johnson is steady bowler with excellent stamina. That's just about it. His stock wicket taking ball is the short and wide ball. Going by some of the descriptions of Macgill's ability to take wickets off long-hops and full crap bowling, he's effectively the fast bowling equivalent.
