great couple of years followed by winning against australia after a huge losing period against them. felt that they had reached the peak and then it all went downhill

england in particular have fallen hugely since that series. the last live test match they won was 11 test matches ago against nz. take out nz and its 17 test matches ago, against the windies

That is the worst insult ever dished out to a South African team.

At least England 2005 had more than a couple of weeks to enjoy the highs.

Aye. The Yarps are probably spewing that they didn't get to mug-lair they way around Capetown for 4 weeks in an open-topped double-decker bus with a bottle of champers in each hand.

Yes Danny.
Shit. You've smashed my theory well out of the water.
To rebutt, England would've trounced those bags of shite. No joke. No banter. If that was the team, with that form, we'd now be world number 1.

Definitely and as I say it's my opinion. I just reckon that team in that form would've been more than a match for any current team. Doesn't mean much in any sort of context though. Currently, England are gash and SA are vying for #1.
Re: Are South Africa 2009 like
The 2005 England would certainly have the best seam attack in the game atm.

And the Saffies would perhaps have had the better batsmen. I'd probably still agree with the Monkeh.
