How will it end up?

Given your record in previous offers like that, we're in deep doo-doo.skully wrote:If we lose, it's my shout next time we meet.Zat wrote:It's more fun to blame you, Mr goody-two-shoes.

The problem with Australian teams since '94 is that they didn't really need a captain.
Problem is when they did need one they didn't measure up.

And if the outcome of losing a bet is a night of hilarity over a few sherbets, it's a bet I am happy to pay up on.

41 wins in 57 Tests. That'll do me any day, thanks.

My point was AB was the last captain to hold his place in the team on both criteria.
AB. Could bat and captain.
TFF. Could captain couldn't bat.
Ksr. Could bat couldn't captain
Drunky. See above.
AB followed by Warnie would've been the best way. Then you don't have the undignified specatcle of the Australian captain being dragged kicking and screaming into retirement.

AB was a qunt of a captain until Ashes 89. Then Tubby, Tugga, Clem and Henry et al all started to fire and then in 92 along came Warnie.
FFS.

It's not the 41 skulls it's the 2 tac refers to that will forever mark him.
Shoddy, shithouse almost criminal especially the third test.
When they were walking off after the third test the umpire asked Waugh what he thought of the game.
Waugh apparently replied he was disappointed but they'll be back.
"No, no Mr Waugh. I meant the game of cricket, you've obviously never seen one before."

4-0 or 4-1 Aus.
I think we have it in us to draw a test, maybe even win one.
As tac says though if we somehow manage to get SiJo fit and Flintoff is on top form then I think it will be another close series with Aus just snatching it.
SiJo and Fred won't both be fit though so it's a pipe dream. We simply don't have the bowlers to take 20 wickets at the moment.

2 - 1 England, with Mitch trodding on a ball the morning of the Lord's test.

At the moment I am pretty confident we will win by a margin of at least 1 test.
This could be subject to change, but thats how I see it today*
*Worth noting the Ashes have never been won in England in March

How unlucky would Australia be if Si Jones was fit and firing..... For the last 4 years he's only managed this for one 2 month period somewhere between July and August 2005....
Re: Ashes predictions . . . vote early, vote often . . .
Indeed, but it's the luck we're used to of late . . .

But wouldn't it be great!
SIMON Jones will start bowling for the first time in seven months when he tours South Africa with Worcestershire later this month.
The 30-year-old Ashes hero has made excellent progress in his winter rehabilitation from knee surgery and has shed nearly two stone.
Scans show the pace bowler's operation has been a success and the County remain hopeful Jones will be fit for the start of the new season in April.
Before then Jones will fly out to Johannesburg with the rest of the New Road squad on March 23 for the County's pre season tour.
Steve Rhodes, Worcestershire's director of cricket, said he was impressed with Jones' determination to fight back so quickly from surgery.
"It is very much a daily monitored situation with Simon but he has done everything possible to try and make sure he gets to that first game of the season," he said.
"He showed last year what he can do even when a lot of people had written him off. To shed so much weight is a marvellous achievement and down to his self-discipline and determination to get back playing."
We'll not have the guts to pick him without him having a full 953 seasons of cricket behind him to 'prove his fitness' I bet though...
Still gets on my goat that he could've been picked instead of Pattinson for Headingley.
Interesting bit in bold, he didn't look that overweight to me? 2 stone!

Re: Ashes predictions . . . vote early, vote often . . .
We're going to phucking smash Australia.
None of their batsman can live up to their hype over here. Maybe Hussey can buck the trend, but he'll be the only one. Krabich will be able to face balls, Ponting will look how he always does, yet average 15-20 runs less than his overall average. Phil Hughes will be mincemeat(no thanks to those massive twats at Middx). Clarke will show the fallacy that he's going against a ball that moves. Haddin will be as shit as Prior behind the sticks.
Johnson won't last the series, BLee will be how he always is against England. For once, England will be able to dominate a spinner.
McDonald will probably take 15+ wickets, due to his dibbly swing.
Siddle will be collared at the airport for looking like a convict.
Done and dusted.
Probably 3-1 to England, with Lord's being our first victory.
Nice.

Nope. For some reason MDMA has gone up to 40 quid a g. It's the phucking recession. Get your own.
