Should we stop changing the clocks?
Notice how bright it is out and it's 7pm. Whats the point of changing the clocks these days?
Okay I am a bit bored so if you've anything to add please do so and even if you've nothing to add we want to hear from you....

All of Europe. North America and half of Australia.
All places quite north I believe.

I'm a real rebel because I never change the time in my car. It still confuses me though!

My word! People didn't age well back then did they?
It says he died aged 59 in 1915 and the photo of him was taken in 1909 so he was 53 in that photo. He looks 20 years older than that!

Yes, even the youngsters looked old in those days.

It's a good idea imo, longer summer days when the light lasts longer.

20 hour shifts down a hole 7 days a week aged 10 didn't help though did they!?

Just doesn't make sense to me. Why does only part of Australia do it?HH_pink wrote:Look at the map here:Demelza wrote:Which countries actually change their clocks?

Just the southern half where it is actually required/makes sense I guess. The Northern parts are almost tropical with not much variation in the length of daylight across seasons and therefore don't need the time change.

If I had my way, GB would adopt Central European Time - one hour further forward than we are now all year round. Makes sense because it boosts the UK leisure industry, and reduces elecricity consumption.

When I lived in London I wished for 2 hours of daylight saving. Even with 1 hour the sun still rose at about 4.30am.

Daylight saving can work in small countries or small jurisdictions. It'll never work properly in QLD.

Now would be a very good time to stop changing the clocks.
We switch back to standard time and dark evenings next week-end.

No. Because it's feckin hot as hell in most parts of it during summer. Going to bed, effectively, an hour earlier just adds to the discomfort.
