No Mark Davies. No Kabir Ali.
The same old turds keep getting picked whilst these two, with outstanding FC records, aren't.
I know what you're thinking about Mark Davies - horses for courses. But it's better than another recall for Steve Harmison on a bouncy pitch where he proceeds to take 0/100 (he'd take -1 if he could) in twenty overs.
And Davies really does have an OUTSTANDING first-class record. Performed well with the Lions (unlike Mahmood).
What's the point?
As for Vaughan, how many runs has he scored since averaging 24 last year in Tests? How many proper innings has he played? What's that? ZERO? Oh, but of course, that means he averages infinity from zero innings and must be worth a recall.

Harmison has been named in the wrong squad. He was meant to be selected for the non-performance squad.
Our selections are all over the shop.
How was Amjad Khan impressive? Copious no-balls & a pelting quicker one....

JKL - Lest you think I have 2 ID's on here ... the above was ALL Gussies work!!
You'd better add Gus to the anti-Vorn campaign - which now, (bugger bugger bugger), definitely seems a lost cause as it becomes clear that the w**kstains that run English cricket desperately want a 34 year old, non-scoring, living-in-the-past crock o' sh!t to join the ballast which makes up the excuse that is "the England cricket team".
England to lose the Ashes 3-0, and deservedly so.

You're allowed a different opinion, even if it is wrong
I'd actually forgotten that Vaughan still has a central contract!

Okay, I'll reserve judgement until after he scores a ton for the MCC on a placid Lord's wicket next week ... and then another for the Tykes pre WIndies tour....JKLever wrote:You're allowed a different opinion, even if it is wrong

But aye, you're right ... he does still have a central contract - which BTW, expires around 1st May this year if I'm not mistaken!

I mean... oh ******!
WTF is Panesar doing in the squad? It's hard to see how he's 'developed' at all in his time with England. I'm not saying Northants are going to get his 'groove back' but seeing as he's only gone downhill, perhaps just a little leave-alone would serve England well.

Stephen Davies was in the recent ODI squad and has been shortlisted for the 20/20 bunfight - and yet he misses out. WTF?
And don't get me started on Amjad Khan!!!!!

Oh deary deary me.
So basically the same side that has been dismally shocking in Test match cricket for how long, is basically going to be the same side that takes the field at Cardiff.
Oh we are farked...
And Gashley Piles has absolutely no farking idea whatsoever. The same bunch of coconuts picked in this squad yet again. And yet we all know those on the periphery will not even get a look in, bar in T20 perhaps.

An according to Gashley, they are looking to build a sustainable performing outfit for the future also.
Still not sure how picking the same bunch of gonads for the last 24 months is going to help you accomplish this is you keep picking them really.

Re: England performance Squad named (Vaughan in it)
Well, Vaughan, Bell or Shah for the Ashes number 3... not much of a choice is it really? Key's another option I guess but he hasn't played a Test for 5 years and has a modest record. We're going to be crap whoever we choose.
Not sure of the purpose of this squad, but young players and veterans alike have been treated inconsistently. Has Steve Davies been discarded already? Still no hint of giving Hoggard another look even with how crap our bowlers have been recently? And if Noey Khan't made a positive impression it's obviously in terms of fitting in with the group of players who call the shots, as it's certainly nothing he did on the cricket field.
3-0 is optimistic really, if the weather's any better than the last couple of years. Might get a fiver on the whitewash when Flower's appointment is confirmed...

It won't - it's just the England Clique Squad plus a few side-kicks. No Tremlett, Kabir, Davies - just the same bowlers who couldn't take twenty wickets for the last year plus the same batsmen who couldn't rack up 400 until they met the West Indies on the flattest decks ever, where they still managed a 51 all-out.
God, these are exciting times for English cricket.
