Who will win the Ashes 09 - Poll!
Who will win the Ashes 09 - Poll!
Well?
While a 2-1 or a 2-0 result looks most likely either way, a 5-0/4-0 o even a 4-1 win for Aus would be a huge surprise this time around. It will be very close I feel. 1-0 either way or 0-0/2-2 kind of draws look impossible. 3-2 isn't looking likely as 1 test at least will be drawn somwhere, I think.
I don't think either side will pussy foot around for 1-0 leads or boring draws the way India-Pak do, though.
I just think a very huge win-loss gap isn't likely this time and will be most closely fought than ever in the last 2 decades! I feel England have a chance for a repeat of the last 2-1 home success. But Aus showed in SA it is down but not all out yet so can't be very sure.
Nevertheless, I back England 2-1.

3-2 to England would be quite sensational.
The 5th Test being the decider.

I'm also going with 3-1 Aus, though I'll be happy if we win a test when the series is still live.

2 rainouts, 1 tie and 1 each. Is Doctrove umpiring?

Imagine if Lords was rained out and the Welsh sun shone bright for 5 days.

England always manage to f things up so AUS will win 2 zero.
having said that don't take my word for it because i haven't watched much cricket lately.

I don't think England will get Australia out twice in a match.
So 2-0 Australia.
So 2-0 Australia.

I'm actually wondering when the last side came to these shores that did that sort of carnage. Probably Aus 8 years ago.

Oh yes, I remember now.
It was the start of the great English renaissance under KP.
