Oh dear, it's incredibly sad when parents need to live their lives through their children.

I heard his background discussed at length in the context of Steyn coming from a similar one. Methinks you look for links, no matter how tenuous, to SA and Gayeme in everything I post.

Mitch's mother was on a current affairs show tonight pouring out her hatred for his girlfriend Jessica Bratich. She claimed that the girl is a self-promoting gold-digger and not a nice person. Jessica countered by suggesting that you don't have to like everyone and told Mitch's mother that she'd been a bad parent. The rift has escalated since Mitch relocated to Perth and apparently he failed to inform his mother of the engagement to Jessica and the mother claims he also has distanced himself from his siblings. A sports psychologist said that this is a reasonably common phenomenon whereby parents who have invested a lot in their children's sporting career see red when a partner appears to be raining on their parade. It seems to be an ugly, bitchy rift.

It seems there's never a dull moment with the WAGs as it's claimed that there's trouble between Lara Bingle and some of the other Aussie partners.
