The oval just, bowled throughout the session and brought us back into the game after looking like conceeding a 200 runs lead.

Re: Fred - which performance was better?
Wasn't at the Oval so can't really comment - but I'd have to say, today he really was fired up (and on just the one good leg) ... yet still managed to notch 90+ mph practically every ball with each one varied off a full length.
Only way to describe today's effort - Awesome to watch ... worth his Five-fer, and the Aussies knew it.
Great way to finish his Lord's Test appearance.

IIRC the Oval Test was just meandering along with England looking totally unthreatening until, out of nowhere, the ball starting hooping around, the light became marginal (but Aus needed the win, so couldn't go off) and a couple of them threw the bat.
Felt they were tougher conditions in which to take wickets the past couple of days at Lord's.

I was surprised he only had three michelles, or was that a sub-editors error?

This one. Both were superb bowling spells, but this one because, beyond just the technicalities, it is a classic Test story, the coda that is bringing a career to a worthy finish. Something to remember, a story of the ending.
