Indeed. The whole 'we put 2009 on there as well' thing was guaranteeing a flogging, wasn't it.

Andrew Bolt will probably blame the ABC.
Bob Brown will blame global warming.
Kevin Rudd will blame the previous government.

There's nothing about this England batting lineup that should worry Ponting. There's nothing about the England fielding that should worry Ponting. Flintoff will only bowl 20 overs in a 90 over day - that shouldn't be a major concern.
This series is a feckin long way from being done.

Except 3 flat, low slow wickets, and a bowling attack that lacks a leader.

....except our d!ckhead selectors will go in to the third test with exactly the same side as the second & we'll be farked.

Surely you'd rather win it as you did in 05, with 5 hard fought and gripping Tests with your boys prevailing? We've had two so far - 3 more of the same would be grouse.

Tis understandable h, but it's history to me as well. This series is all that matters at present.

You know this side ain't bad on paper. They just have to do what they're paid a large (Well large for idiots whose mother's were obviously sucking on thalydimide) amount of money to do.
Having Ricky sent instructions via a physio every two miutes would hepl as well.

hmmn...think I am horribly paraphrasing a Karl Marx aphorism from his early writings..."philosophers have only interpreted the world; the point is to change it" from his theses on feurbach?

Re: Who to blame when Australia loses the Ashes.
T'was done as a wind-up skullers ...
I've already said before that I'd rather a free flowing head to head scrap over 5 days (well 4 now that Bell is playing) than having to ponce on and off the field dodging showers and amassing the 'overs yet to be bowled in a day' column.
But I sensed a certain Aussie nationalistic theme creeping in that needed culling immediately .... it won't do y'know ... absolutely not.
As mentioned on certain other threads on here, this boorish attitude and quntish behaviour just will not do, so back off and know your place.
geddit ....
Edit: PS I just love it when a plan comes together ... I've even got Horrie all uppity and huffed - and bugger me, even agreeing with skulls !!
