All he said was a "foreign substance" was detected in Woolmer's body.
It could have been something to do with Woolmer's diabetes.

Probably not the sort of stuff you'd use if you were a highly professional killer. Pyrethroids tend to be very unpleasant-tasting and not all that toxic to humans. You'd have to hold a guy down and force a fair amount of it down his throat. Accidental low-level exposure would not have been unusual.THICKEDGE wrote:http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/woolmer/content/current/story/316585.html

More likely a pesticide used in the hotel or where the team was practising.Henry wrote:All he said was a "foreign substance" was detected in Woolmer's body.

And it's unlikely that he swallowed/inhaled enough to kill himself. Anyone who works on and around well maintained fields of grass day in, day out is likely to have some sort of pesticide in their system.

It's used to kill both ants and cockroaches, so could have been employed in various places. The amount in his system should be telling, though.Shoeshine wrote:mynah wrote:More likely a pesticide used in the hotel or where the team was practising.Henry wrote:All he said was a "foreign substance" was detected in Woolmer's body.

Quite a difference between cypermethrin and sarin, though.lardbucket wrote:http://www.emedicine.com/med/topic1677.htm
