Re: Not exactly a great past 3 days for famous black people
Time for an update. First,
Of course Diego Forlan is claiming he dshould have been the man going to the Bernabéu. (link)
Second, the Williams sisters didn't have a great Aus Open. One of them didn't play, the other dipped out injured.
So Trev may be 50% happy.

Re: Not exactly a great past 3 days for famous black people
BASKETBALL superstar Kobe Bryant was fined $US100,000 (approximately $AU95,000) by the NBA for yelling an anti-gay insult at a referee in a game overnight.
The comment, captured on camera during the Lakers' 102-93 win over the San Antonio Spurs, sparked a media storm and led to a statement from the 13-time All-Star insisting he was not homophobic.
"What I said last night should not be taken literally," Bryant said in a statement issued by the Lakers.
"My actions were out of frustration during the heat of the game, period. The words expressed do NOT reflect my feelings towards the gay and lesbian communities and were NOT meant to offend anyone."
Despite the statement by Bryant, which stopped short of an explicit apology, the NBA showed little leniency for one of its brightest stars.
"Kobe Bryant's comment during last night's game was offensive and inexcusable," NBA commissioner David Stern said in a release. "While I'm fully aware that basketball is an emotional game, such a distasteful term should never be tolerated."Accordingly, I have fined Kobe $100,000. Kobe and everyone associated with the NBA know that insensitive or derogatory comments are not acceptable and have no place in our game or society."
The outburst happened after Bryant was hit with a technical foul with about six minutes remaining in the third quarter of the game.
After heading to the bench, where he angrily smacked a chair and threw a towel, Bryant was shown by TNT cameras appearing to yell the words "f***ing f****t" at referee Bennie Adams.
The Human Rights Campaign also lashed out at Bryant, saying it was "a disgrace for Kobe Bryant to use such horribly offensive and distasteful language, especially when millions of people are watching."
"Hopefully Mr. Bryant will recognize that as a person with such fame and influence, the use of such language not only offends millions of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender) people around the world, but also perpetuates a culture of discrimination and hate that all of us, most notably Mr. Bryant, should be working to eradicate," the group added.
The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Discrimination (GLAAD) has also contacted the Lakers about the incident.

The dill wrote a smash hit called Gold Digger (key lyric - "She got one of your kids, got you for 18 years") then impregnates the world's greatest oxygen thief in Kim Kardashian.
