Some potential there. She might develop quite a good voice.

Extremely gay Aussie group from the sixties, interesting only that the backup singer is non other than Bon Scott of AC/DC fame.
Re: Time for a music thread
Deary me, not wonder Bonn died in his own vomit.

See Bob Dylan got arrested for doing something wierd in a car. The officer who arrested him asked for i.d, as she'd never heard of him.
Her superior, when she rang it in, said "don't ask for his i.d get his autograph".
Kids today.

Don't know why but the lyrics of this song are reminding me of the ashes, particularly with regards to losing them last time and then winning them back .
Not my usual stuff either, Metallica and Slayer is my usual stuff .

Civil Twilight are my New Favourite Band.
They're stuff won't be available in Australia until March next year, but I'd sell my first born if I could get a copy of their CD sooner.

Re: Time for a music thread
For those of UK persuasion, there's an RnB singer, Danyl Johnson? on the X Factor.
This is Stan Walker, latest winner of Australian Idol.
Both guys sang Purple Rain, but Stan's version is outstanding.
(Michael Buble, guesting on AI, said it was embarrassing judging a singer who was better than himself.)

Tis true.
But only when there's a bluddy amazing talent to brag about, after a few seasons of bog ordinary winners.

Frankly, I think you could trot out a raggedy bunch of mangy old stray cats and call it Aus Idol, and my two favourite ladies would still love it.

That was a nice surprise to see Stan on here, footsy.

Hope your mum enjoyed the season. Who was her fave?

Re: Time for a music thread
I speak to my Mum on a weekly basis (I'm in Sydney and she's up-country) and she always regales me ( ) with her thoughts on Idol and MasterChef and whatever other reality dross is on the Teev. I patiently listen.
I believe I paid attention in a few conversations just long enough to decipher that Hayley (the blonde chick??) was her fave. My wife liked James (apparently he was "cute").

That's lovely that your mum talks to you about that kinda stuff.
Sounds like both the wife and mum had a pretty good year - 3rd and 2nd respectively

Re: Time for a music thread
Eek, I give the dear old cheese a call to see how she's going and the love just wants to tell all about Idol. [sigh]
And I guess you're right about their favourites (but I really have no clue on what they look like or worse, sound like). I'm normally on the forum when the show is on and from the den it just sounds like a mob of caterwauling felines.

Re: Time for a music thread
My husband watched it with me one year. It lasted only as long as the singer he had the hots for did (which was about two weeks from memory )
For the other five years minus two weeks, he's shot straight to the bedroom as soon as the idol jingle started.

I assume that's where your PC is? If so, we have much in common.simkat wrote:he's shot straight to the bedroom as soon as the idol jingle started.

TV > PC.
Apart from that point of difference, I'm sure you have much in common.
