Re: Cadbury's Chocolate Buttons
Do you remember that coconut toffee crisp a few years back? I loved them, but after trialling them for a while they stopped doing them.

The forum really is going to sh!t. There was a time when a thread as random as this was guaranteed 4 pages of replies

They stick to the roof of your mouth in a rather unpleasant way.
Haribo Sours are my current favourite.

There's nothing in a Cadbury's Button that you can't get in an ordinary bar of Dairy Milk. It's a big con.
Same with Milky Bar buttons.
Frankly I'm sick and tired of the chocolate conglomerates treating 'us' like 'this'.

Speaking of Milky bar, have you noticed that those little punters - you know, the f*ckers that used to cost 8p or something - they're 30p or more. 30p!!!!! For f*ck's sake!!!! I mean, I know 'things' have gone up but that's disproportionate as f*ck! Qunts.

Wispa Gold is an abomination.
It's Bangladesh of the cricket world, the shit that the dog dragged in your Axminster carpet, a hand-job from Abu Hamza or like rain on your wedding day, a free ride when you're already late, the good advise that you just can't take.

Re: Cadbury's Chocolate Buttons
Yes, it's appalling. Whilst we've all been wasting time worrying about global warming and wars etc. a 22p rise in the price of a milky bar has sneaked up on us over many years!Brass Monkey wrote:spangler wrote:There's nothing in a Cadbury's Button that you can't get in an ordinary bar of Dairy Milk. Me too!
And what about the family block? The twerps have 'changed' -downsized - the package and weight, while keeping the same price.
Well I'm as mad as hell and I'm not going to take it any more! Go to your windows! Down with conglomerates!
Hang on a sec. Couldn't survive without ma chocolate sultanas and ma peanut m'n'ms...
Dang, that's how 'they' get 'us' every time.

Re: Cadbury's Chocolate Buttons
I've had this document in my possession for sometime. Someone, probably now "terminated", left it in my local library's photocopier. Anyway, it's quite pertinent to the above discussion.
TOP SECRET
Memo
To: All Chocolate Conglomerate Chiefs
From: The Supreme Leader
HERE IS A REMINDER OF THE 7 STEP PLAN. YOU WILL CONTINUE TO USE IT UNLESS YOU RECEIVE ORDERS TO THE CONTRARY. PLEASE READ AND DESTROY.
I WILL SEE YOU ALL AT THE ISLAND HIDEOUT FOR THE AGM. FULL UNIFORMS TO BE WORN. NO WIVES OR PARTNERS.
THE 7 STEP PLAN
1. Shrink the product. Sometimes it helps to call it "fun size" or change the packaging to make it less obvious that it's smaller. Keep the price the same.
2. Let people get used to that.
3. Nudge the price up a bit.
4. Let people get used to that.
5. Nudge the price up a lot, ideally after any fuss about steps 1-4 has died down and main dissenters have been "dealt with".
6. Make huge profits.
7. Repeat (with all products in turn, on a rolling programme).

Oh shit, yeah, I went a little overboard - I mean, it's not like this is a chocolate thread. That sarcasm has f*cked me man, I think I'll go and post on a thread about what I am having for dinner tonight. Y'know in an 'ironic' way. Because I think it would be interesting to the forum. If it's not, I've always got the title of 'no interest' to quote - y'know, if people find it the height of banality or boringness.
Re: Cadbury's Chocolate Buttons
I have English friends who love our Violet Crumble; although all that honeycomb sets my teeth on edge.
They're similar to a Cadbury Crunchie.

Re: Cadbury's Chocolate Buttons
Sarcasm? What sarcasm? These big compamies really do depend on people worrying about bigger issues, so they can con us on the little things without us noticing. It's like those signs you get in hotels now: "Please help us to help the environment by not making us even bother to give you clean towels every day" (or words to that effect).Brass Monkey wrote:ever hopeful wrote:
