Been gone about the same length of time as Mynah.

No one knows about taily as far as I know. She stopped replying to everyone's mails I think.

Vilks is a worry.

taily is a concern, but she made it pretty clear that she would prefer to do her own thing without any input/support; I think she saw caring as a sign of weakness. Probably why she lusted so after tac ...

Ordinarily I'd say that I hoped she was OK, but since all signs were that she would probably prefer our indifference, I won't.

Anyway, I'm so sorry to hear about Niki. The whole thing is there in plain view on her facebook pages, etc etc, and I would have known about the progression of her illness in February if I really were up with skully's favourite website.

I thought it was one of her usual sulks, but did send a couple of mails and got no reply. Asked around and everyone told me the same.

I very rarely check that site.

Facebook told me it was Hilda's birthday the other day

I didnt say happy birthday at the time because it has been so long since i had heard of/from her and I got a "weird" feeling when I saw it ...

I notice several of mynah's fb friends had wished her a happy birthday a couple of months after her passing (or maybe I'm getting the year of the wishes confused)

It was what had me confused initially and didn't scroll down. They are mostly in Afrikaans and are saying how they miss her.

On a brighter note I see Stuey has been active.

I've often wondered about Taily. She disappeared from the other boards she frequented about the same time she disappeared from here. I used to occasionally get an e-mail from her but hav'nt heard anything for a long time. Even if she did flounce she could'nt have resisted coming back to have a skite over Tasmanias recent successes.

She's a strong woman, in the sense of not needing validation from others.

She wouldn't need to 'skite'.

After she left the boards, I did see (in cross-copied e-mails, mainly from Hilda and Demmie - Hilda often seemed a little careless with that) that she seemed to be in a relationship, perhaps even with an instant family, although I may have read that incorrectly ... anyway hopefully the relationship has continued, she's well, and she's simply not sad enough to need to vent here.

Incidentally, PCS, enjoying 'not out first ball' very much. I recognise quite a few of the players!

I like The Human Sieve. We have The Human Shield at my own club; his red-inking efforts make SRW appear very amateur.

He's a top bloke. He has one shot, advancing slowly at the bowler with a straight bat, legs behind, at the point of delivery. On non-spinning wickets he is virtually unbowlable and rarely gets given out lbw as he gets hit a yard out of the crease so often. His head seems impervious to the short ball and he has never played a crossbat shot intentionally, so he's mostly stumped, run out, or stranded. His technique is such that I have sometimes wondered whether a bowler could actually appeal for 'obstructing the field'.

Your description makes it sound like a small army advancing in single file. Thw world's thinnest-ever 'testudo'. The lead man is the full face of the bat.

On the bolded bit ..... judging by a series of recent decisions, just as well for him Hawkeye is limited to international cricket! Very Happy

As per 'not out first ball', he is mostly umpired by his own team.

lbws are given rarely and mostly strategically, especially against rivals for The Duck Award. In such cases, it doesn't even have to be close.

Is Marty often seen around Tazzie?

He is the ultimate Gunner With a Cause.

Not seen around these parts while I've been here.

I've had brief visits from Zim and Mrs Zim; and skully (who helped me watch us lose to NZ). I know Mick S flew in in his private jet for a round of golf at the local upmarket Barnbougle Links course for high fliers; he didn't have time to consort with plebs!

That last bit's in jest, btw, Mick's not like that at all.
